How to block YouTube Shorts in Chrome
Short answer
YouTube has no setting to turn Shorts off. You can hide the Shorts shelf on the homepage for 30 days, but it comes back, and Shorts stay in the sidebar and on channel pages. A browser extension like Quiet removes them everywhere, before the page finishes loading.
On YouTube
- 1Open the YouTube homepage and find the Shorts shelf.
- 2Click the X in the shelf’s top-right corner.
- 3YouTube hides that shelf for the next 30 days.
The catch: Homepage only, and only for 30 days. The sidebar entry and channel Shorts tabs stay.
With Quiet
