How to turn off YouTube autoplay for good
Short answer
Click the autoplay switch at the bottom of the YouTube player so it reads Off. To keep it that way, Quiet switches autoplay off on every video you open and hides the end-screen suggestions, so nothing is lined up when a video ends.
On YouTube
- 1Open any video.
- 2At the bottom of the player, click the autoplay switch so it reads Off.
- 3For silent previews on the homepage, open Settings, then Playback and performance, and untick Inline playback.
The catch: When a video ends, the end screen still offers the next one to click.
With Quiet
Autoplay is checked on every video you open, so it stays off even if it gets switched back on.
