How to set a daily YouTube time limit in Chrome
Short answer
YouTube can remind you to take a break, but you can dismiss it, and its daily Shorts limit lives in the phone app. Quiet Pro’s daily watch limit counts your minutes on YouTube in Chrome, and once you reach it Quiet switches to strict mode for the rest of the day.
On YouTube
- 1In the YouTube mobile app, open your profile, then Settings, then Time management.
- 2Turn on Remind me to take a break and choose how often.
- 3Optionally set a daily limit for Shorts.
The catch: A break reminder is easy to dismiss, and these settings live in the phone app, not your desktop browser.
With Quiet Pro
Set the number of minutes. Past it, Quiet goes strict for the rest of the day: the popup switch stops working and even allowlisted channels stop being an exception. It resets the next day. An optional nudge asks “still intentional?” part-way through a session.
The daily watch limit and session nudge are part of Quiet Pro, with a 7-day free trial.
