How to hide YouTube comments
Short answer
YouTube has no setting that hides comments for you; only a video’s creator can switch them off, one video at a time. Quiet’s Comments switch hides the comments section on every video you open, and it is on from the moment you install.
On YouTube
- 1Open any video and scroll below the description.
- 2Comments sit there, with no viewer setting to hide them.
- 3Only the creator can turn comments off, per video.
The catch: There is no setting for viewers, so you either scroll past them or avoid videos one at a time.
With Quiet
Removes the comments section from every watch page and leaves the rest of the page, including the description, as it is. Switch it off in the popup whenever you want them back.
Add to ChromeFree. No account needed.
Common questions
- Can I still read comments when I want to?
- Yes. Switch Comments off in the toolbar popup, or press Alt+Shift+Q to turn Quiet off for a while.
- Does hiding comments change anything for other people?
- No. Quiet only hides the section on your own screen. Nothing changes on the video, the channel or your account.
